Our wedding and honeymoon. I blinked and they were gone! I’m going to rewind a bit to catch you all up on everything!

Thank goodness for the many kind hearts and helping hands that have helped us through all of this.

On Wednesday, June 9, the weekend’s events got VERY real. That was my last day at the office before the wedding and also the day my wonderful parents and amazing MOH (aka my fantastic first cousin) Jill arrived at my place.

What a time we had. While I did my wedding hairdo run through with my stylist friend Lindsey, Mom and Jill completed a few shopping trips and helped me cross a few things off my to-do list. That evening we made yet another trip to Target, cut out hearts for our wedding wish jar and folded, cut and glued wedding programs.

Not only did we have a fun time with these little DIY projects, Dad and Philip enjoyed getting acquainted with our new Canon Vixia HD video camera!

See, Dad pulled another trick over on me. He is VERY good at this. Earlier that week, Dad plays like he and mom are going to get a new video camera and wants to know the best, top-of-the-line camera out there. He asks me to talk with our videographer and everything. So I get the best of the best from Esteban (our amazing video guy) and share with Dad. Little did we know, he was doing research to get an incredible video camera for US! Dad’s one sly, smart cookie.

That Wednesday was a late night. We were trying to get all these paper crafts finished so we could (somewhat) relax and enjoy the next day to prepare for the bachelorette party! SO FUN! I’ll spill all those details tomorrow. Until then…love much!

Check out these perfectly purple bottles I found at the Nashville flea market! They totally fit the vibe for our wedding. I’m not quite sure what we’re going to incorporate with these yet…but I do have some ideas. Any suggestions?

As Philip and I have been working with our wedding budget, we’ve both been very realistic with what we want versus what is truly possible.

So 6 months ago, when we started envisioning our wedding day and setting our priorities, I have to admit, flowers were a low item on the totem pole. Don’t get me wrong. I love flowers. I think they’re beautiful and certainly wouldn’t complain if I received some tomorrow. But from the beginning of our planning process, I’ve really disliked the idea of spending money on something that will be beautiful for a short amount of time and then will wither, dry away and turn into a fragile mess. I’m SUPER excited to share that I’ve found a solution to my conundrum…a vintage brooch bouquet!

Isn’t that BEAUTIFUL?! Thanks to Amanda over at Fantasy Floral Designs, I’m going to have my very own lovely vintage brooch bouquet created from a collection of pins, earrings, brooches, rings, charms, etc. given to me by friends, family members and others who are special to me. Not only is it a unique piece of art, but it’s a keepsake I’ll get to treasure for years to come!

Everyone I’ve told about my project  has been so excited! I’m so excited others are as excited as I am! Just this past week I started telling people and I’ve already been given two brooches! (A cool little frog pin and a lovely gold butterfly!) I CAN’T wait to see what my final product looks like.

I was browsing around on Twitter earlier and noticed two fellow local bridal bloggers (The Future Mrs. Smith and Sassy Bride on a Mission) were discussing freeze-dried flowers. One of them recommended a site called Flyboy Naturals – ecofriendly rose petals. I had to check it out.

I’m so excited about this site. Just look at these beautiful purple petals! Not to mention, there are more than 105 colors, they’re biodegradeable, non-staining and not slippery. These are definitely on my shopping list. Thanks ladies!
