Need a stylish bachelorette dress or a lovely honeymoon outfit? Heylee B.’s got you covered.

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

It’s 3 days until the wedding and thankfully all my shopping is done! (With the exception of a pair or two of flip flops. I still need a cheap pair of those.)

With the help of Heylee Harris-Achten, makeup artist, wardrobe stylist and owner of Heylee B. – an amazing clothing boutique here in Franklin, my fashion needs are covered…at least for the next few weeks. :)

Check out this adorable little tank top I purchased for the honeymoon:

It has removable straps and is just so darn comfortable. A dress I purchased recently is this wonderfully soft brown little number:

Bridesmaid Megan was here when I tried on this dress and we both agreed it fit like a glove. I just love all the detailing and I have a pair of brown heels that will go with it perfectly.

One of my favorite things about Heylee is her flexibility. She is a one-woman show. You can set an appointment with her and get her full attention as you browse through her pieces. Heck, depending on where you live (and how lucky you are :) ), she may even be willing to pull your size in all of her pieces and bring them by your place so you can try them on in the comforts of your own home. Talk about fantastic customer service!

Don’t live in Franklin? No problem. Heylee updates the Heylee B. Facebook Fan Page with every new shipment! If you see something you like, email her and you can make shipping arrangements!

Her prices are affordable and you’d have to look long and hard to find these designers and brands elsewhere. Heylee only selects unique pieces to carry in her boutique and she only gets a few of each one, so if you see something you like, act quickly!

Heylee, it’s been such a joy getting to know you throughout the past few years. Philip and I just love spending time with you and Jake. Thank you for being my go-to gal when it comes to selecting unique pieces for my wardrobe. We’re looking forward to seeing ya’ll Saturday!

Friends, make sure you become a fan of Heylee B. on Facebook! Everything you’d need to get in touch with Heylee is on that page. Make sure to tell her Krista sent you!

XOXO

A miracle happened tonight…

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

I abhor shopping for swimsuits. Absolutely hate it.

I’m oddly proportioned…and I don’t believe in spending a lot of money on swimwear. That criteria alone greatly reduces options.

Thankfully the water gods were looking out for me tonight as I was looking for a new swimsuit for our honeymoon. As I was browsing through a sea of swimsuits at Dillards…the one and only swimsuit in my size, a flattering color against my pasty white skin and remotely in my budget actually fit…and looked great! If you’re a woman, you know what I’m talking about. Typically it takes me an entire day of wading through swimsuits to find the perfect one. This took less than an hour!

It’s a coral Kenneth Cole tw0-piece with ruffled detailing. Check it out:

Sorry for the poor lighting. I had to share my cute find with you and this was the best I could do for tonight. I’m off to catch some zzzz’s. We’re less than 10 days away from our big day! Still a few details to wrap up…stay tuned! I’ll be posting more tomorrow!

Our Hilton Head Honeymoon, PLUS a fun photography event, not to miss!

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Our wedding is officially 22 days away. (!!!!!!)

A little more than 2 weeks ago, we realized that our honeymoon plans for Destin may not have been such a good idea. After talking with several friends and watching the news, we decided that, thanks to good ol’ British Petroleum and their ever-expanding oil spill, our trip to Destin may not prove very enjoyable. (Believe it or not, I’ve never been to the beach as an adult. I know. Sheltered. I’ll be danged if I’m going to spend my honeymoon on an oil-covered beach!)

We canceled our plans just in the nick of time and decided that our new honeymoon destination would be Hilton Head, SC. Not only had neither of us ever been there, but we’re staying in a larger condo for an extra night and saving money! Way to go, Philip! (He’s been organizing honeymoon plans. :) Thank goodness. Brides, make sure you get your fiance involved. Seriously. There’s TOO much to do to NOT divide up the plans and responsibilities.)

So thanks to Philip, our honeymoon plans are back on track…and even better (and more cost-effective!) than they were before. YAY!

Here’s my latest honeymoon dress purchase! It was an absolute steal. I can never wear these dresses. They’re always too long on me. This one, however, fit perfectly.

If you’ve been to Hilton Head, I’d love to hear some tips/suggestions/recommendations for restaurants and such. We’ve never been, so any info is great. :)

Before I conclude today’s post…if you’re a local bride, make plans to check out the Kristen Steele Photography Launch Party! The event is this Saturday, May 22 at The Factory in Franklin (our wedding venue!) from 1pm-4pm. Kristen, your work is lovely! It sounds like one heck of a time! (I’m all about cupcakes.)  Here are the details:

Have a fantastic Thursday everyone! Talk with you tomorrow! :)
